A charming little fisherman's cottage with sea views and located close to the beach is available to you and your family or friends during your stay.

Recommendation

This programme is the perfect combination for groups of riders and non-riders. Holiday fun for the whole family! The riding programme or the stay in the holiday home can be extended on request. The fishing village also offers other interesting leisure activities (swimming, boat hire, windsurfing, diving, sailing, hiking and nature exploration, etc.) to complement your riding holiday in Catalonia.

We recommend that you hire a car. Alternatively, there is a direct train connection from Barcelona and Girona to nearby Llançà. We will be happy to help you organise your arrival.

Day 1: Fishermen's village El Port de la Selva

When you arrive in the idyllic beach village of El Port de la Selva, your guide will be waiting to show you to your accommodation, a charming little fisherman's cottage. From the terrace, you can look out over the Mediterranean Sea and the surrounding coastal mountains. With the wide range of leisure activities on offer, this holiday is also perfect for non-riders. The guide will inform you about the trail, as the first ride starts the next morning!

Days 2 - 3: Riding by the sea

Our proud Andalusians await you happily in a pasture on the edge of the village. From horseback, you will discover the impressive Cap de Creus, a Natural Park of surreal beauty. The curious rock formations show the influence of the salt water and the strong Tramuntana wind. Along the way, you will discover the different layers of rock that tell of the geological evolution of this region when the African continental plate approached the European one, creating the Pyrenees. Over the course of time, the Mediterranean has carved wild coves into the rock faces.

Like mountain goats, our sure-footed horses climb over the rugged cliffs of the cape. Marvel at spectacular views of the Pyrenees to the west, the Gulf of Leon to the north, the Bay of Roses to the south and the endless sea to the east! In between, there are always opportunities to trot or canter. Secluded sandy and pebble beaches with crystal-clear water invite you to take a refreshing dip in the sea.

After a wonderful day in the saddle, enjoy the sunset on the terrace of the holiday home with a view of the sea and mountains as the evening draws to a cosy close.

Day 4: Fancy something else?

After an enjoyable time on horseback, the riding programme can be extended on request. A further stay in the holiday home without riding is also an option. Please contact us for a customised offer!

Character

Riding through a paradisiacal landscape where the last foothills of the Pyrenees sink into the deep blue sea. The Cross Cape Sea Rides are the perfect programme for anyone who wants to explore the unspoilt Cap de Creus on horseback. Our Andalusians will carry you skilfully over narrow passes, climb joyfully over the rugged cliffs on the Cape and take you to hidden bays that are almost impossible to reach without a horse.

You take care of your own catering and pack what you would like as a saddlebag picnic. Depending on the time of year, do not forget your swimming gear. Comfortable hiking boots may make a short descent in the coastal mountains easier. To provide the trip perfect, we have made sure that you also have time to relax between riding. This means that even less experienced riders will find this trail an ideal riding programme.

Catering (including saddlebag picnics on riding days): For self-catering there are supermarkets, local shops, bars and restaurants nearby. It is possible to use the fully equipped kitchen in the holiday home.
Flight or public transport (on arrival and on departure), taxi: We recommend travelling there by hire car. Alternatively, there is a direct train connection from Barcelona and Girona to nearby Llançà. We will be happy to help you organise your arrival.

Accommodation

The charming former fisherman's cottage offers a double room with a double bed and two rooms with a large bed and a bed on the gallery. In total, the house has capacity for up to 6 guests. There is a bathroom with shower and WC as well as an en-suite WC. The holiday home also has a fully equipped kitchen, a cosy living area and a small terrace with sea views. It is ideal for families or friends.

Depending on the number of concurrent trails, the season, the weather and national holidays, we may make alterations to itineraries at short-notice, which could affect the number of riding hours per day, the route we take to any given destination or the use of alternative accommodation. Trails can also be ridden in both directions. All changes are at our discretion but when changes are made, we endeavour to ensure that our high standards of quality are maintained and reflected in the alternatives we choose.
