Catalonia Beach & Coast - Dalí Trail - September 2014

If you like adventure, nature and horses, this type of holiday is a must! Sitting on your horse riding through unspoiled nature, through mountains on steep and narrow trails, enjoying the breathtaking panoramas, it's such a beautiful environment it will make you start day dreaming....and then to be rewarded with a sumptuous lunch on a pre-set picnic table at a picturesque spot on the river...deliiiiiicious siesta. Such a wonderful life! Crossing the Riviera, the long and delightful gallop through the surf on the Costa Brava at sunrise, were incredible experiences; as were riding through narrow alleys in charming villages and having a short visit to the Dali castle. Relaxation at the Studfarm "Yeguada Senillosa" of the dark Andalusian horses. Also our horses enjoyed spending some time there, and the "natives" love to be cuddled.
They saved the best for last... riding over the cliffs at the coast... climbing with our horse through a wonderful nature reserve with beautiful views on the Mediterranean to say "ooohhh how beautiful" in sheer admiration, and to end at a bay where the prepared lunch was waiting for us on the beach next to Dali's former home.
....it has truly been a memorable adventure on horseback...

And of course thank you to our very nice guide "Nacho" who always ensured a safe ride to our destinations.
You have to do this, to enjoy it to the max.
We come back next year!

Paths of Herdsmen Trail - August 2014

Just a quick note to say a big thank you for a wonderful week riding in the Pyrenees. Millie and I thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and thanks to our guide and horses we visited some beautiful villages and had amazing views in the mountains.

We had such fun with our group. It was a true holiday - I did not have to make any decisions and there was delicious food and lovely places to stay around each corner!

Many thanks to our guide Niki who was brilliant. She matched us to wonderful horses and took excellent care of us all.

Many thanks again.

Best wishes

Bandit Trail - August 2014

The ride met all my expectations and then some. I have been on other great rides but this one was, by far, the best.
I had the best possible time, enjoyable in every way. I would highly recommend this ride. The horses were extremely well looked after during the ride, although they worked hard, their comfort always came first - they were happy and healthy. The routes and back-up was well managed, the other riders were all great. I trail ride a lot with my own horses and this was the best group ride that I have ever been on.
Just want to say thanks to Rudi and José for such a wonderful set of memories!

Bandit Trail - August 2014

If you enjoy history, good food, culture, great scenery with challenging trails, and time to take it all in, you will LOVE this trip! The trip was as described online - it is a challenging ride, but due more to the terrain than the pace. The horses were absolutely wonderful -forward going but very well trained, and great over the rough terrain. Our guide (Nacho) was great - I thought he matched people to horses very well, and he was very knowledgable, friendly, and safety conscious. Special praise to the outfitter! They have developed a fantastic trip and they run it very, very well. I am in the outfitting business myself, and I have rarely seen such a safe, fun, informative, and well run program!

"Beach to Beach" - Andorra Trail - July 2014

"Trans-Pyraneean Trail- Holiday of a lifetime!"
My first trail riding holiday - and I chose the most challenging trail in Europe!
From the moment we were met at the airport (I travelled alone but our group soon got chatting in the minibus!), arrived at our Hotel for the first night and met Rudi, and then met the horses the next day, we were so well looked after.
The horses were extremely fit and well looked after, the care and attention to instructions for tack and grooming, especially on our long and difficult trail, showed me early on that they were undoubtedly Rudi's priority. He made a big effort to match riders to suitable horses- I had underplayed my ability a little as I wasn't sure what to expect, and got a very quiet well behaved gentleman. I actually swopped with another rider part way through as her horse was a little too much for her, and loved Jordan even more! It is important to be honest- these horses are not dull over-worked underfed holiday horses, they are spirited and fit, and feeling their enthusiasm still there on day 10 of a 350km trail is just fantastic!
The particular trail I chose was challenging at times- steep climbs, narrow paths, fast canters, fast flowing rivers and quite a lot of walking down the hills. I loved every minute. From start to finish, the food was fantastic, from gourmet meals to cowboy picnics, all washed down with seemingly unlimited quantities of 'vino tinto'. Our helpers Danny and Nacho worked tirelessly to ensure our camps were ready and our horses cared for after long days on the trail. Being guided by Rudi (assisted by nacho) through the country he clearly loves, spotting Chamois, wild horses, marmots and vulchers is an experience I will never forget.
I would recommend Panorama trails to anyone, especially those travelling alone as the welcome is so friendly and the arrangements are so good. Feel free to contact me for a reference!
